Lee S. Berman, OD

Dr. Berman was born in Chicago and grew up in Long Beach and Orange County. He attended California State University Long Beach and graduated from Southern California College of Optometry where he received a Doctorate of Optometry. Dr. Berman has also earned a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix. Practicing in Long Beach for over 25 years, Dr. Berman is a fellow in the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association and is licensed to prescribe therapeutic drugs.
Dr. Berman is a member of the American Optometric Association and was selected as Young Optometrist of the year (1980). He has served as president of the Long Beach Optometric Society and the Southern California Vision Care Council.
Dr. Berman has been involved with many community organizations including the Boy Scouts, PTA, Little League and the Long Beach City College Foundation. His interests include traveling, classic sports cars, hiking, reading and collecting fine wines. Dr. Berman and his wife Kathy have three children and three grandchildren
Dr. Berman offers patients a combination of excellent clinical expertise and warm personal care. Providing compassionate care is a philosophy that has motivated Dr. Berman throughout his career and continues to be an important component in his relationship with patients.

Lawrence J. Geisse, MD

Dr. Geisse was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the oldest of 10 children. He attended the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado before transferring to Stanford University in California to finish his undergraduate studies, graduating with honors and Phi Beta Kappa.
He attended the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia, graduating with honors and Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his internship in Indiana, and then completed his ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. He was the chief resident at the Mayo Clinic in his last year and spent additional time on laser surgery.
Currently, he is in private practice in the Long Beach area, concentrating on difficult cases and publishing on diverse topics in the medical field. He enjoys a number of outside activities and still plays soccer (having played in college and then professionally for a year after college) and has picked up golf. He also enjoys bridge and chess. |

Kara Takeda, OD |

Dr. Kara Takeda joined Triangle Eye Care in July 2005. She earned her Bachelors of Science from California State University in Long Beach where she graduated with honors. She received her professional training at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. While attending SCCO, Dr. Takeda received scholarships for her excellence in Primary Care, Vision Therapy, Academics, and Extracurricular Activities.
Her clinical training included the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles and the San Diego Center for Vision Care, which focused primarily on Pediatrics and Vision Therapy. Dr. Takeda is licensed in the use of therapeutic and diagnostic pharmaceutical agents, which allows her to treat and manage ocular disease.
In her spare time, Dr. Takeda enjoys running, snowboarding and playing basketball. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Bailey. While in college, one of her many jobs included working as a character in Disneyland. Dr. Takeda enjoys working in a private practice because it allows her the opportunity to establish long-term relationships with her patients while providing quality care. |
